Is Anyone Losing Their Hair??
« on: June 06, 2015, 04:45:12 pm »
I am 8 weeks into my 12 week treatment.  So far, sides have been minimal.  But, the last few weeks, my hair has been coming out quite a bit.  I have a ton of hair, so it is not that noticeable yet, but hairdresser is getting concerned.  Wanted to know if anyone else was experiencing hair loss.

I lost my hair, and since hair loss usually occurs about 8 to 12 weeks after the precipitating incident (in this case, medication), it will continue until 8 to 12 weeks after stopping the meds. Then it will come back.

However, since hundreds of things can cause hair loss, be sure you aren't overlooking another cause, esp if your hair loss continues past 12 weeks post treatment.

I have had some hair loss but that has been over the last couple of years and in my case I suspect it is a symptom of cirrhosis.

On a side note after treating with Harvoni and now at 4 weeks post being not detected I have noticed my hair seems to be starting to come back a bit.

Just in time for summer shorts season ;)

I've noticed some pronounced hair loss in the last couple of weeks. I wasn't sure if it was just 'my time' to be losing it, being a 54 year old guy that has been slightly thinning for years, or if it was related to Harvoni.

Hopefully, if it is the latter, it will come back after treating, as Lynn has mentioned. The former...It's over, Johnny.
