Does Marijuana Hurt the Liver?
« on: August 07, 2015, 12:06:53 pm »
From our latest web exclusive Hepatitis C and Pain, Part 2:
http://www.hepmag.com/articles/pain_and_hepatitis_2502_27515.shtml

"Will marijuana cause liver injury? It’s not well researched, but probably not. A Canadian study of 690 participants led by Laurence Brune and colleagues found, 'Marijuana smoking does not accelerate progression of liver disease in HIV–Hepatitis C coinfection.'

What is marijuana’s effect on hepatitis C? The studies have been mixed. There is some research suggesting that marijuana may lower immune response. However, cannabis is being used in cancer studies with favorable results. In short, we don’t know."

Does anybody here use medical marijuana for pain? Has anyone used it during hep C treatment? Tell your stories here.
