EOT 12 weeks Viekira Pak w/ Ribavirin bloodwork
« on: August 09, 2015, 09:20:43 am »
Hi to all of you out there on this journey.
Completed treatment on 8/2 and had bloodwork on 8/3 - results now in.
Albumin 3.9     AST 14     ALT 13    RBC 13.72 (L)    Hemoglobin  11.4 (L)   HCV - Undetected ( < 1.18 or <15 - 2 different tests)
I had mentioned in an earlier post that I was reactive to Hep B and wasn't too concerned because I had gotten a vaccine many years ago. Further testing showed immunity to Hep B.
I see my doctor on 8/17 and will probably get all the immunizations he wants me to get. Hep B booster, Hep A vaccine, shingles vaccine.
So incredible! So happy right now! Stay the course and beat this virus!
Now the 12 week wait begins.  Hoping to hear the word "cured" in early November.
All my best to all of you!

Thank you all so much, it was so much easier getting through this treatment with all of you by my side. Love that post Sapphire! Let's all keep posting on the other side and here for all the newbies coming down the line. We need to give each other all the support we can!

Such great EOT news!!! You must be over the moon!!

I'm looking at 9/8 as my last day of Vpack and RIBA.  Can hardly wait. I feel better already. With zero VL The liver is already healing. Surprisingly, I'm even starting to feel a bit differently about myself. You?

Hi ms.nomoreC,  you are almost there!
Good question - i guess I never felt any differently about myself for having HCV for all these years except for feeling somehow tainted. A great support group around me helped with that. I guess it will sink in after 12 week SVR that my blood is not tainted anymore; I am not tainted anymore.
I am looking forward to a good night's sleep and for the itching to go away. I am also looking forward to having more
energy and to not feeling pangs in my liver anymore.
Perhaps coming out the other side and beating this will have other effects on how I feel about myself.
Sapphiire has started a thread on the completed treatment forum for those of us who have gone the Vpak route. Please continue to post here and join us there when treatment is completed.
Good luck to you and can't wait for your results!
Prudence

Dear Prudence,

I posted this news on my thread as well, but wanted to let you know.

My EOT labs are back! All of them! It's going to take a minute to really absorb this, but I'm soooooo relieved! At just two weeks after treatment, I'm already feeling my body rebounding from the Vpak and RIBA. Wow!!

VL 0 and undetectable
ALT 18
AST 19
Bilirubin .6
AFT 4 (down from a high of 9)

I'm so glad to be making this journey in the company of other kind and optimistic souls!  My SVR labs are in 12 weeks--early December! Can't wait to be able to post encouraging news. The odds are good! No matter what, I will be taking action to ensure the end of HEPC in my body!

Thanks for your encouragement!
Wishing us all SVR cure and long healthier lives,
