HARVONI TREATMENT BEGAN FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2015
12 Week Regimen
What, how, and will Harvoni do and or change in my life?

Harvoni 90-400 mg tablet

Genotype 1a
Non cirrhotic
No prior treatments
Present weight: 198

Sunday, October 25, 2015

Day 1 – no side effects, feel no different than the usual aches and pains.

Day 2 – chills, fever, loss of appetite. Still eating, just not as much.

Day 3 – chills, fever, loss of appetite. Still eating, just not as much. Muscle & joint pain all over, feel like I have a a flu. I don't... Got the flu shot 4 weeks ago. I am much more tired and achy than usual and I feel disconcerted and more foggy brained. I see many people have headaches. So far, so good. No headaches for me.

Day 4 - OMG! Chills, chills, chills - I'm freezing.. I'm not sick or getting sick, believe I know the difference. I have the heat on high in the house. Had unrelated doctor's appointment this morning, as soon as I got home fell into bed slept all day. Mental fog not so much tonight. Appetite is still not there. But that's okay. I eat enough to have something in my stomach.

Day 5 – Wow this be that Harvoni high people talk about. OMG! My brain is so clear almost feels as if it could float right out of my head. I have energy, no aches and pains. Through carrying the Hep C virus for 30+ years it stole so much from me, little by little. Mainly it stole my LIFE FORCE. If I get that back, OMG! I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the fact I am taking a pill that will cure me. OMG! Is this real?

HEP C you finally met your match!!!

So glad I found this site. I will update how the treatment is going for me and hope it helps others beginning this journey of healing.

I weighed myself and listed it here, will keeps tabs on any weight loss or gain during the 12 weeks. Please, I encourage others to also include their weight before during and after. I believe it's an important piece to the treatment.

Welcome, BnC.

What a powerful use of the Marquee effect -- mesmerizing! Sorry you've got Sx challenges, but maybe you'll have an easy time post-Tx, whereas I'm one of those who enjoyed the "Harvoni High" (extra energy, lessening of muscle & joint pain, etc.) during Tx only to experience the return of fatigue and pain post-Tx. What counts is whether the stuff cures us, which it is highly likely to do.

The brain fog is definitely not affecting your ability to write impeccably.

You're drinking extra fluids, right? Harvoni seems to like to guzzle the stuff. This week I got my water bill for the quarter that included 11 weeks of Harvoni

. If only all those extra toilet flushes were tax-deductible as a medical expense!

Hi Bricks and welcome to the club.

Hopefully things lighten up for you soon.I've seen a lot of people post their side effects and there is just no rhyme or reason for who gets them and why.Are you taking the riba also?I started the Viekira on the 17th and I've had one real bad day.It seemed like everything hit me at once and the next day they were more or less gone.

Btw I didn't even notice the Marquee until Gnatty mentioned it.I thought it was a ad.

Gnatty be glad you don't live in California using water like that.The SWAT team would be storming your house in the middle of one of your midnight runs,and drag you off to places people probably didn't know even existed.

We are brothers in arms!! Started my 12 week generic s & l treatment Friday as well. I had a cold coming on, but started anyway. Can't tell if I have any sides yet or not because of the cold, other than a little "hazy" on the mental front.

Hi bricksnsticks! Sorry to hear you got some tough starters there.I am almost finished month 2 & having been on the forum the whole time....experience has been really great.At the beginning I had lots of sides chills being one of them but we all have reported that the sides do go away & your body becomes used to Harvoni.I wonder when you take it...I have read some people take it at night to sleep the stuff off.Some get insomnia & that really sucks! When I took my med at noon I started getting insomnia so chose the late time instead ..sleeping really well now.Whatever you do it will all work out.Looking to hear when the chills finally go away.

My first three days were just symptoms and signs of a nasty cold, which I had. Now my wife has it and I am feeling much better. Yesterday-Day4-I felt something I haven't felt in years-a strange feeling of having energy to spare after a long day at school!! Maybe its my imagination, but I felt good. Headache is gone. I am looking at Dose #5. Down the Hatch! Off to sterlize a few million alien invaders in my liver!

Hang in there. My first couple of weeks on Harvoni were a bit weird but nothing I could not handle. I did Interferon/Riba 13 years ago and it was horrible. The 24 weeks I did with Harvoni got better after the first month. I worked full time so just stay the course.

I took mine in the morning with breakfast, drank about 1 gallon of water a day. I slept well and my appetite was good. Mental confusion and brain fog were apparent but appear to have subsided. I started treat. 2/23/15 and ended 8/10/15. Was SVR the whole time as well as 5 weeks EOT. My 12 week EOT is coming up next week. I feel very positive.

Coach Mike, I came down with a nasty cold in my third week or so. Thoroughly ruined my 'Harvoni High'.

But my 4 wk lab work came back as undetected so YAY!!!

I have blood work scheduled as well. Hope your doing well with the treatment. I have good days and some not so good. I sleep so much any more, maybe that's good. I don't know. Just scheduled delivery of my next 4 week refill of meds.

Hello Brick,
I have the same questions as you as with you opened this thread.
I am now on day 8 and I cannot sleep well because op the speedy feeling inside, kind of arousal and headaches.
Good to hear that you are sleeping a lot, that must be,good for the healing body en the medical factory inside

I guess.
I like to hear about your bloodwork.
My docter says he maybe will not do bloodworks during treatment...and I hoped he will change his mind. The only thing I heard yeatserday my alt was lowered from 145 to 45 in just 1 week

When is your bloodwork?
I take sleepingpills to get some rest and relaxation because of the constant feeling of arousal and high bloodpressure. I hope that will become beter next week, Imhave now a week off from work for my study. I take the pill in the morning and during the day I feel fine

I am new here and its nice to read and talk to my 'parners this boattrip' Together.

Hi Medelief, sorry you are having sleep problems lately.We have all shared about our pill taking times & how sometimes during treatment you have to adjust that time.When I started in September I thought noon was a good time because I got so tired after taking dose that for 2 hours I just layed on the floor with my foster kitten.I used the morning to get all my stuff done & then the afternoons were just stop time.After awhile I started being more awake & taking my dose no longer caused drowsiness & at night I was tossing.So I changed my time to nightt & slept through everything awaking refreshed & feeling awesome.I hope you find the best time to rid you of sleeplessness. Lots of water! Be well!
