Hi Valcon and welcome,
If you're in week 3 it sounds like you're doing well.Everyone gets tired and they are saying drink a lot of water for the headaches. It's hard to say if it gets worse because there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the side effects. There are a lot of ways to deal with them so ask and someone will help if they can.GL Cheers

Hi Valcon.  Looks like we're at the same milestone. Today is the end of week 3 for me. Bill should only be a day or two behind me. Morning headaches have been the norm for me but after my coffee, something small to eat and some water, I'm usually fine.  I take the Sovaldi and ribavirin first thing in the morning around 6am and the 2nd dose of riba by 3:30pm. So far I haven't had any sleep issues. The exhaustion is part of the treatment. When you feel tired, rest. If you push yourself you will feel it later that day or the next. I have labs next week and besides hoping for an good numbers and an undetectable VL, I'm also concerned about anemia. But like Bill mentioned, everyone reacts to the meds differently. It seems you're doing fine so far. There's a lot of info on this forum if you need it. Good luck.

Thanks guys for your support and/or encouragement, all though I don't wish this condition on anybody, it is nice to know I have people to talk to. I finish my fourth week tomorrow morning and notice an improvement in the way I feel as far as headaches and being focused,  I wake up feeling good with a lot of energy, but I get tired early in the day, really tired by late in the afternoon, I go to the Doctor's this coming Wed., praying for a for a good report. cheers

Just keep thinking about how much better it gets after you cross the finish line Valcon.I think we all get tired like that.I personally haven't bursts of energy like I'm getting in a long time.I can't wait to be off the meds to see what happens.I'm sure the news the doctor gives you will be everything you're hoping for.I go next Friday and I'm chomping at the bit to see what they say.Cheers

Week 23 of 24. Riba and sovaldi. I am on 1200 mg of riba. 600 mg 2 x a day. I have not had to dose decrease.
Side effects are different for all but with a positive attitude and staying busy I have made it to the finish line. My last pills are next sunday.
I have been blessed to be able to work a very demanding job the whole time and will do my first post lab Monday the 16Th. Hoping to stay VND .
The best part of this, is there is a cure. We can have hope and avoid the negative effects of Hep C. My hep c is Genotype 3. Geno 3 is one that does not stay silent or symptomless as some other types of hep c does. I am thankful for the treatment and for not having to put my family through liver failure and liver cancer as this geno can and does progress to this.
Genotype 3a
diagnosis date 4/29/15
treatment naive
viral load 6 million
unknown date of infection
Sovaldi and ribaviron  24 weeks started 6/1/15
End of treatment date 11/15/2015 VND last 2 labs
3 month follow up 2/22/16 NEGATIVE !! NOT DETECTED

Hi Valcon,
Have your doc. look at your HGB, mine was low due to the Riba. It made me very anemic, so I was feeling more tired than normal kinda like you wrote. I have to have EPO injections to counter the Riba and bring my HGB back up. I was on 5 riba's a day, but my doc had me drop down to 4 now.

Thanks Chuck 3a, at my first check up they did check my hgb it had dropped some but not enough to worry about after two weeks into my treatment my headachs are almost gone feeling a little tired in the late afternoon, im am six weeks into treatment now and as far as sides the good is out weighting the bad, I feel like I'm having no sides from the virus, just sides from the medicine,

Wow Texas. So glad you have made it without any major symptoms. I'm so happy for you.

For me I cannot work. Maybe the first couple of weeks, but no more. When it hits I'd better be where I can lay down or I'm going down. Good moments only last around thirty to forty minutes. And I may or may not get a good moment in a given day. I do agree that staying busy and having a good attitude helps. Even when I'm down I keep laundry or paper work handy. As soon as I can hold my head up I try to get some work in.

I have 30 days left and am looking forward to seeing 'undetected' on my reports.
