Post tx headaches

I just finished a 16 week clinical trial with Merck two weeks ago, I've been undetectable for about 3 months. Now that I'm off the meds I've been getting massive headaches everyday, which I never had before or during tx. I've started taking my supplements again, Turmeric, milk thistle, vitamins and immune boosters and I'm hoping this is a symptom of detox, but they are blinding. Mostly like neck tension. One night it took an Advil PM in my desperation, something I haven't touched for a couple of years because I have no Tylenol or other pain meds. I don't tolerate headaches well, my weakness. Other pain and discomfort I can deal. I've been fatigued the entire time even before treatment. In bed all the time. But just fatigue. Now this... Please let it be detoxing from Ribo and the study drug. Feeling a bit desperate

Hi Marcel. Sorry to hear about your headache problems post-treatment. Are you continuing to stay well-hydrated? That can help with a lot of headaches.

I do try very hard to hydrate knowing I'm flushing out the toxins. Someone suggested it could be coming from the supplements. Perhaps I'm trying to detox too fast. My bowels are getting more regular, I've been working through constipation throughout treatment. My urine has lightened up remarkably. I push myself to move around. Things look good except for this pressure in my neck. Going for massages and considering a chiropractor just to release some pressure.

I do not do much in the way of supplements, myself. But I would think that if you are using the same supplements you used prior to treatment, and if you didn't have blinding headaches then, that the supplements are probably not the cause of your current headaches. I am no doctor though!

Massage sounds like a good idea since you can feel pressure in your neck.

Thanks for your input. Our stories of contraction etc are similar. I did an interferon Ribo treatment 4 yrs ago. And relapsed after 6 months. 3a is a resistant strain as you know and this trial was geared toward that. I feel encouraged and hopeful this will work. Treatment wasn't even close to the interferon nightmare. I'll continue To focus on self care and stay positive. Thanks again

Getting an awful sickly headache and sore neck like hulk hogans had a hold of me !!!
It as reduced to once or twice a week , I'm svr12 plus 2 weeks , even pain killers don't ease it , very debilitating in the morning before work, got one now as I txt !! I'm convinced lack of rest !! Painful around the eye sockets too, and I really don't like takin pain relief with a poorly liver, hopefully time will tell!! I was on harvoni snd ribavarin 12 wks by the way , best wishes Pablo
