Wow.. really?  That's huge.  Ive seen a lot of adds as well.  So many boomers are undiagnosed and have no idea theyve got it.  Maybe this will draw their attention to the need to get tested.

Yeah the commercial is definitely to get people to make sure they are tested because it's not routine and commercial states it's dangerous like HIV but many people don't know about it or know they are infected.

This is the whole problem with this disease. You don't know if you have it until you're tested for it.I would love to see them test for it as part of your yearly physical. At least they're trying to being awareness to it.That's a heck of a start.

Actually the CDC recommended routine testing for hepatitis c for all baby boomers several years ago back at least to 2012

http://health.usnews.com/health-news/news/articles/2012/08/16/test-all-baby-boomers-for-hepatitis-c-cdc

Unfortunately not all general practitioners seem to have adopted this practice and a lot of people do not routinely ever see a doctor either due to lack of insurance or personal choice.

I hadn't seen 1 in 20 but I did see reference to 1 in 30 baby boomers on hepc hope

Maybe as more people start getting tested and if it is a fact that 1 in 30 have the virus it should start to bring the cost down so more could get treated. I consider myself very fortunate to get approval by my HMO the first request. On day 32 today with my first blood test in a couple days, fingers crossed and praying for some positive data.
