New Test Results Week 8 Epclusa
« on: December 24, 2016, 06:34:12 pm »
12/21/2016 Week 8 Epclusa with no ribavarin.

Hemo and Liver results all normal. Mildly elevated Creatinin level at 1.28 and my blood sugar was 218 at the time os the test (type II diabetic).  Blood sugar does not worry me as I was fresh off an airline flight and had coffee and a cliff bar due to lack of decent food to eat. Anyway, good news...

ALT. 19
AST. 17

HCV RNA. <=12
HCV LOG. <1.08

HCV Undetected.  Next blood test week 12 at end of treatment 1/11/2017.

I have found my side effects appearance somewhat different from others. My first four or five weeks were trouble free, nothing.  However they have worsened as time has marched along.  A lot of muscle aches in both chest and back.  The brain fog everyone speaks of began also around week six.  Found myself having difficulty focusing at times lately.  And then there is the depression.  I have never suffered from it, but after nine weeks now I am convinced this drug does induce it. Every now and again I have experienced very down moods.  Another thing I am convinced of, is they did not study enough on the effects of heart patients or those with heart conditions.  I've been lucky so far and after extensive heart testing, I've been cleared as fine with no issues.  I will finish the treatment.  But my cardiologist cannot explain my sudden rise in blood pressure readings and fatigue since starting this drug.  Folks, it probably goes without saying ASK QUESTIONS AND MONITOR YOURSELF.  Good doctor, bad doctor, they simply don't know the answers yet.  This drug is too new and I sure as hell don't trust the FDA.  But the positive side is it seems to be working.  I just am of the opinion there are more side effects to this other than "mild headaches and fatigue".  I'll save celebrating until my post treatment six month blood test.  Drink plenty of fluids (not sugar drinks) and get your rest. Good luck to you all and I'll report back mid January.

A few did have some additional aches and pains and a few did experience some rise in BP glad you are on top of it.

Just a few more weeks to go hang in there.

Wishing you the best over the holidays and soon to be free forever from hep c!
