I say that it depends on the condition of your liver. If you have only minimal, or no liver damage, then why not?!  If that is not the case, then Id heed the studies that show pot can be somewhat hostile to the compromised liver.

Just curious what are you treating with medical marijuana? That could also be a part of your decision.

For example if there are other ways less liver hostile to treat your medical condition rather than medical MJ?

I would be more concerned with the effect it has on the brain. Some studies seem to indicate neurocognitive deficit in heavy users and I wonder if it would be best to stay away from it as an Alzheimer prevention measure.

It may just be that, having experienced brain fog, I now want to feel mentally sharp every moment.

If I were to use it, it would be for anxiety. Using it occasionally also renews my perspective on life and helps to keep my outlook positive and fresh. Also if I were to use it, it would be with a vaporizer.

My biggest question is whether or not it would increase my chances of a relapse.

Marijuana has no known effect on treatment. While most of us avoided taking anything unnecessary while in treatment to avoid any possible unknown interaction with our treatment once you are 12 weeks post treatment and SVR you do  it have the virus. While for everyone there is a very, very small risk of relapsed after that point marijuana cannot make a virus that has been eridicated come back.

The primary way we would ever have a viral load again is through a new infection.

Interesting using MJ for anxiety as I recall isn't one side effect of long term use mild paranoia? Have you considered conventional anti anxiety medications and counseling? I do hope that even if you prefer medical MJ  that you are supporting that by seeing a counselor.

After all the goal should be a drug and medication free life for everyone whenever possible.

Your support and knowledge is much appreciated Lynn. I do see a counselor at certain times in my life, and I'm actually pursuing a career in the helping field.

And your right about mild paranoia being a side effect for some. For me, in the past, the afterglow from mj has really helped my anxiety. I guess the increase of cannabinoids in my system helps to balance things out. The biggest benefit I've seen is a renewal of my positive outlook on life. It helps to put things into perspective for me.

But you are right. At the end of the day, I should be able to do all of this without the help of any drug or medication.
