Could a Kidney Cyst Cause Relapse?
« on: June 20, 2018, 06:24:03 pm »
I have small kidney cysts that contain fluid. Could Hep C be in this fluid and open up after Tx and reinfect me? Or, will Vosevi stop the food source for Hep C and the Hep C in the fluid will die in 41 days? I've heard that these meds stop the food source for HCV and it can no longer replicate, there fore, it has no choice but to die.

I know they say HCV can't live outside the body for over 41 days.

The DAA’s simply prevent the virus from replicating. Think of it as birth control for HCV.

The hep c virus lives in the blood stream I doubt it is inside your cysts

Hi Lynn.
Thanks. Sounds like I might have to say farewell to HCV soon.
Did you see my other post here yet? I got the OK for Vosevi 12 weeks today.
I should be on Vosevi in a week or less, hopefully.

Can you fill me in on reinfection? If I get a new toothbrush at week 4 of Vosevi and sterilize everything that may have touched my blood, will that be enough to prevent reinfection?

I didn’t do any of those things

Still was cured.

Some people did that more for their own peace of mind.

Awesome.

She said LDN (low dose naltrexone) 3 mg is not contra indicated so I guess it will be OK to take on 12 wks of Vosevi.

My MD wants me to avoid vitamins, minerals and herbs on Tx.
She said Epsom salt baths are OK to keep my magnesium level up but no Mg orally.
