Extreme Fatigue/Depression after EOT
« on: March 28, 2016, 05:41:47 pm »
Hello Fellow Warriors

I went for my 4 week EOT Bloodwork, and hoping to still be nondetected!

I was one that experienced side effects during treatment (mainly extreme fatigue, headaches and insomnia) but now after end of treatment am still very much fatigued which is quite concerning.  Follow up with primary care physician today hopefully will shed light to any health issues by the bloodwork drawn.

I also have mild cryoglobulemnia (before treatment).

I have read of others with health concerns after finishing treatment, while understanding maybe it will take time to heal, and I just need to let my body recover.

The extreme fatigue is almost debilitating, depression as the insomnia still lingers.  I have a viral upper respiratory that is going into the 9th day that feels like pneumonia but my chest X-ray was negative today. I feel like the depression is due to my mind and body are not on the same page. Anyone else experiencing these after effects?

Please someone, tell me this will get better.  While I find comfort in knowing the EOT was NONDETECTED, I really wish my body felt as good as my mind wants it to.

Jack, could your upper respiratory infection be bacterial bronchitis? I ask because the summer before last, I developed bacterial bronchitis beginning just days before spouse developed pneumonia. There was a day when we were both so totally wiped out that if a neighbor hadn't brought over some homemade soup, I don't know what we would have done for sustenance.

You took longer to reach undetected than many people do, so your body has had a tougher fight. Even though I was undetected on the 28th-day labs, after the end of treatment I did experience periods of fatigue (which I hadn't experienced during treatment). The sum total of many postings of life after treatment is that how long it takes to feel normal is highly individual. Let's hope your PCP will be able to prescribe effective treatment for the upper respiratory infection, because getting rid of that will be a huge help both in feeling less fatigued and in figuring out whether something unusual is going on, or if your immune system just must adjust to life without HCV.

Thanks Gnatty for the response.

Dr gave me a z-pak so I'm wishful this will knock out the upper respiratory. Feels a lot like bronchitis w a sinus infection coupled.

Hey Jack,
I went through and am going through the same thing.

Had bad insomnia, a cold for a month and half, as well as depression.

I am slowly improving... in fact these past two days I have started to feel like my old self!   Apparently it takes awhile to get back to normal.

Hang in there!

Yes it's taking us some time to feel better. Second round of zpak for upper respiratory, still fatigue, and all the other autoimmune problems w low grade fevers.  May even have low grade lymphoma so now seeing hematologist. One day we will feel better.  I have read there is a connection to Hcv and lymphomas. The hcv did a number on our bodies plus I have cryoglobulemnia associated w all this.  Freezing in 80 degree weather (socks, cap and snuggled in lots blankets)

Hi

My vitamin d has been borderline for many years.  I take 4000 vitamin d3 per day.  When I found out 10 years ago, it was 9.   It runs 30 or 27 now.  Constant struggle to keep it up.  When it was 9, I was placed on 50000 weekly for 8 weeks. It did help, but this is a different fatigue w other health issues they just can't put their finger on, yet.
