FMLA or Sick Leave while on Harvoni
« on: July 23, 2017, 12:20:18 pm »
Hi all,

I am starting my Harvoni treatment this coming week and was curious if anyone had to take sick leave / FMLA from work while on the tx due to side effects?

My hepatologist said he'd be happy to write an tx for leave, but I don't want to have to take off work. I have a demanding job; putting in ~65/hours a week and travel at least 2 weeks out of the month.

I searched the forums and found most of the posts related to fmla were 2014/2015. Wondering if I can get through my 8 weeks of Harvoni without having to tell anyone at work or take any sick leave.

Thanks for voting.

NotToday, quite a few of us actually had extra energy while on Harvoni and got a lot more done. You never know ahead of time, though, so it's good that your hepatologist will write a tx for leave in the unlikely event that you find that you do need it.

Hoping you have an easy time,
