Hey Yall... I just got the final approval on my pv solar for my house.  They are flipping the switch today... meaning bye bye local power company (most expensive in the nation, I might add).   This day is going really well....

Still sad about my friend but life is calling them to where their 7 grandkids are.  I understand.  5 x larger house, same price as here.  Price of Paradise.  but it will work out... it's all in divine order somehow.

Off to appointments with clients.  And, back to my slogan:

Today is a good day for a good day!  8)

HI Bree,
We got solar last year and it cut our power bills in half. My sister who has no kids, gets a credit from them as their power use is less than the panels make and it goes back into the grid. They got in for a better deal than we did, but it still works out well. Costs a fortune though. Power bills were around $800.00 a quarter now around $400. Happy with that. If you've got the sun then go solar! Cal :)

I went 10 panels over usage.  I'll get credits back  from local utility. (1/2 the rate) but still.  I should have no power bill and the loan to purchase (with tax incentives etc.) will be less than 5 years and that was the same amount as the power bill each month.  bottom line.  Break even on power bill vs. solar loan for 4 years, then nothing, zero, nada bills!   And, plus they are changing the rules so I got in front of it.  stoked!  8)

Hi Rosie,
Yeah, just play it down. That's what I do. I am paranoid about pulled off of tx. I ust don't tell them a lot of stuff. Of course when I ended up in hospital it was a different story. But my specialist came to the hospital and gave my carers a crash course on Viekira and what time I had to take it. He told them what to do and they pretty much did as they were told. I mean this is a drug that isn't passed here. They know nothing about it and it's interactions etc. So he is gung ho. So is my GP if I tell her something, like my ankles are swollen, she'll look at them and say, can you live with that for another 5 weeks? I say of course! It's all about getting through to the end at any cost isn't it? Who said the orals were easy?????? Cal :-X

Yeah, I think we need a coach that will tell management to go back off in their own jack yard. But, the Astros aren't choking up yet! Beside, the United States of Texas is probably bigger than that little old Island down under!!! LOL. Besides Friday night lights, baseball, and Major League football , baseball, soccer, hockey, etc. etc. keeps us amused when we aren't herding our longhorns or spit shining the old oil wells!!!!

Tommy, I might be visiting the great state of Texas next month for 3 days. Just outside of Houston. I am trying to get out of it though. There really isn't enough Xanax on this planet I can take to chaperone 19 seventeen year old girls for a rugby tournament, but one of the chaperones said she may not be able to go. That much estrogen together on a bus and then at a hotel isn't really my cup of tea, but I may have no choice.  But if I can beat hepatitis I can smack down 17 yr old girls! LOL

Hey Yall!!! Can I get a "NOT DETECTED"???
Yep, EOT results just came back.
"Not Detected"  I'm so happy.  I felt like I knew it all along... but when I was so sick with a bug right at the end of treatment and afterward, it was concerning.

I texted a friend and she texted back:  "duh".  My friends held the space and belief for me even when I got fearful at times during treatment.  Then she made me breakfast and we walked 3 miles (I was sore from 4 miles yesterday) but she made me do it anyway.

Keep the belief that you will be cured, stay in that, live in that!!!
Hard to put my gratitude into words.  Bree

EXCELLENT NEWS BREE !!!

Thanks Kim!!!  I wanted to respond to that solar thing too.  I'm not completely off grid, as backup batteries are not quite there yet... but night time usage will be fed back to me as I will have a credit stored up from the day (they only pay back half of what they make off of your solar, can you say corporate giants).  So I should have zero utility bill and perhaps get money back from utilities.  We have highest rate in the nation and the most sun, wind and water power generating capabilities.  Go figure.  And, I got it for 1/3 of the costs due to tax incentives and a special grant program.  Lucky me all the way around.  I ended up with quite an education when I got into this.  A great distraction from the health thing and a great end result.  PV Solar and UND!

Tommy the Royals came back at the end....this town really needs them to go the distance. It was so fun last year when they went to the World Series, and the Chiefs....well, they are getting a little extra practice with the high school team down the street right now,,,,maybe the practice will help them win at least one more game this season! Oh, they are horrible

Love that song. Love the proclaimers. When I was in Scotland, we saw their house. Big deal I know, but it was then in the 80's. I always dance to them too. Cal :)

Hi all, my hepc dr. sent the appeal for 12 wk tx instead of the 8 they approved yesterday. I have 20 more pills before it is settled I guess. I am not stressed at all because it's out of my hands & I think it will all work out .Today is a beautiful day in florida...the heat has let up just a little. Have a good one everybody!

Rosie, don't stress about it, I have found that once the word approval is printed, the pharmacy company moves fast. You could even call them, and they will fed x the refill. You will probably have the refill in your hands Monday or Tuesday. Glad that got worked out for you

Thanks Drummerman, I have been feeling bad for you in the insomnia dept. I can only take a day of that or I am horrible to be around. I do know that camomile tea works for me & there is kava tea too but I don't do right now that because it affects the liver..sounds like the Dr. has armed you with the big guns so glad you slept well . It's just amazing to be getting cured ...it still feels unreal !

I think I am getting over it.  Slept all night last night.  Have only taken Ambien twice and it was a half pill both times.  Woke up after about 3 hours of sleep both times.

Anyway, I think the insomnia is letting up!

I didn't use the oven just to be on the safe side until I got it...I don't think one pill really would have made a big difference..but just for the sheer cost of it we got it, and I found out that I really need to move the stove out and clean under it more often. It was pretty gross. Lol

Glad to see the forum carried on without me!  :)  I noticed this thread split into 3 pages!!!  Pretty cool... people want to finish strong and stay positive, plus we are quite the communicators!

Busy weekend for me... all good.  Two events, one at a private waterfall, the other at a beach.  Dogs to the doggie park...walked a few miles here and there.

Today, walked with friend, chiropractor, farmer's market (fresh salad, yum).

Went to library, copied down notes from an awesome book.  This is my kind of life.

Oh yea, I have to remember to get some work in there too!

I'm not peak every moment, but never mind.... I just want to say... I think this post thing is going to work out quite nicely!!!  Hang in there everybody and plan for the best!  That's what I'm doing!

Thank you Cal... it's challenging to "unhook" from what has become so familiar to us, and it's also worth it to create a new way of looking at the world.  (easy for me to say, I'm not on riba). ha

Hi Bree,
Yes ribas certainly taint the process. I like your phrase "challenging to unhook from what  become so familiar to us " it explains getting stuck and not moving forward. It's not that easy to do when you've only known illness for so long. I think anyone who thinks it's going to be hearts and flowers post tx is delusional, it will take some work from the person. This may mean some professional help, or just deciding to change and leave the old ways behind. Easy for some not for others. Cal  :-\

You bring up a good observation.  I too, was one, who relapsed.  Causes one to be cautious about too much optimism.  This time, I have to believe and have every reason to believe ... last time, I was not in a good place... this time, I'm ready and in a different place.  Plus we have treatments that actually work!  For sure, it's an adjustment, it may not be hearts and flowers, but we can start on creating new patterns of wellness and lifestyle.

I keep feeling like I need to stop and rest.  (old pattern).  Maybe I do need to rest, but hopefully I can start to listen to my body differently and what it's really telling me not because of the habit I had created out of necessity to pace myself so much.  It's like I had chronic fatigue for 20+ years.  I don't know... I'm finding my way here... I think there are new opportunities for life that I had previously boxed myself in out of necessity (real or imagined.)  Interesting exploration though... might be interesting to work through with a therapist.

Thanks Rosie! I really feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders.  A new sense of freedom.  I'm taking it one step at a time.  It's almost like overwhelm.  We've all been through so much.  It's interesting to not have to be so laser focused of getting and taking treatment.  Like there's so much more to life.   We're lucky to live in this day and age and what a gift we have been given!  (I know it doesn't feel like it every minute but deep down, I know it.) 8)

Hi Bree,
Funny you should say that you were in a bad place last tx, because I was in a great place and gob smacked when I relapsed. This time around, well you've exposed me, I am not as trusting in the process. I argue with myself all the time. My Doctor has told me to let it go and I am trying. However, I do think the drugs are great, it's proven, I am following the guidelines pedantically. and keep glimpsing a life without HCV. I am trying I promise! But what I was actually trying to say was that you are unhooking from the past and that is not an easy thing to do. We've all live with this for so long. The examples you give are perfect, pacing yourself. Am I tired yet? I should be? It's all new ground. Luckily you have a mentally healthy attitude to it all Bree and I shall learn a lot from you. Which is why I think your post tx thread is a great idea. I find your posts exhilarating and want to be a person who is open to new patterns of wellness and lifestyle.
I am normally an optimistic person, have been all my life, I want to be reintroduced to her again. I know she's there, my son said last week "It's good to have you back mum" and a girlfriend who I had lunch with said she could see the old Cal coming through heaps in our laughing and enjoying each others company. I know I will get there again. But I need to do some more hard work (rats). Cal :)

Cal, yours sons insightful comments speak the world of you both! He knows you are so not letting this get to you for long. I just totally understand this caught in between the "real world" we are experiencing. We think we are getting cured but don't want to be too extatic " just in case". I have people asking me all the time  "How are you?" The truth is I don't know!!! I feel good till I don't ...why do I have to lay down one day & the next day I am superwoman? It sucks to be in between but that is where we are & it will have to do for now. You guys are just the best & don't forget for all the bad stuff we are right behind you & need to hear it! You have pearls of wisdom coming out all the time. God bless Cal's son!

Hi Rosie,
Yes my sons comments were certainly holding up a mirror to me and it excited me to think I could be me again. But then doubt breaks in like a thief and tells me don't get too carried away yet? I wonder sometimes if ill believe the 12 week EOT Tests if I SVR!  Negativity is, like Bree astutely recognised, a hook, that I get caught on.
Rosie being caught in between describes it so well.

When it gets down to it, I have to trust in the process and get off the organ recital, because it doesn't get me to where I want to be, the old Cal. But thanks for acknowledging how damn tough this tx is in the body and the brain! Cal :)
